The quality of a shower enclosure is tested long after the day it is installed. Seals compress, hinges need adjustment, finishes need cleaning and hardware may eventually require replacement. After-sales support is therefore part of the original specification.
Keep an installation record
Record the glass type and thickness, hardware collection, finish, seals, coatings, supplier, installer and date. This turns a custom enclosure into an identifiable product rather than an anonymous piece of glass.
Ask what can be replaced
Can the door seal, magnetic strip, hinge, roller, handle or stabiliser be ordered separately? If a finish is discontinued, is there a compatible alternative? These questions matter especially for imported or highly specialised hardware.
Understand the warranty
Glass breakage, finish wear, water escape, silicone joints and consumable seals may be treated differently. The owner should know what is covered, for how long and what cleaning or installation conditions apply.
Local support is practical value
A local KZN supplier or installer who can identify the system and source parts can save substantial disruption later. The cheapest initial fitting may become expensive if a small failed component requires a complete replacement.
Handover should include care instructions
Explain how to clean the glass, hardware, seals and coatings, what to avoid and who to contact when an adjustment is needed. Good handover protects the bathroom and the relationship with the owner.
