Width changes the drawer problem
A wide drawer may look like a simple extension of a small furniture drawer, but the larger box creates more leverage on the runners and more opportunity for the front to twist or fall out of alignment.
Bathroom drawers also carry dense loads: bottles, grooming tools, spare products and sometimes cleaning materials. The cabinet and fixing system need to be designed for the actual width, depth and use.
Hardware, box and cabinet work together
A runner load figure applies to a particular hardware configuration. It does not automatically certify a custom drawer box, cabinet carcass, wall fixing or countertop above it.
For a wide vanity, record the runner system, drawer dimensions, load class, fixing method and adjustment provisions. The drawer should be tested in the completed cabinet, not judged only by how smoothly the empty box moves in the workshop.
Alignment is part of the finish
Long drawer runs make small gaps and front movement visible. Accurate cabinet construction, suitable hardware and careful installation all contribute to the final appearance.
The best hardware is not simply the strongest available. It is the system correctly matched to the drawer, cabinet and daily routine.
