Comparing premium baths by photograph alone is unreliable. QuarryCast, DADOquartz, Livingstone’s stone-composite construction, LAUFEN Marbond and Duravit acrylic products can all create a luxury result, but their technical and ownership characteristics differ.
Compare construction first
Ask what the bath is made from, how the surface is finished, how the base is supported and how the product is repaired. “Stone” is not a sufficient technical description.
Compare the numbers that affect the room
Record the exact empty weight, maximum capacity, internal dimensions, base footprint, waste position, overflow arrangement and permitted filler options. These values affect the floor, plumbing, delivery and comfort.
Compare the ownership plan
Check cleaning instructions, temperature-shock warnings, finish warranty, repair route, spare parts and local support. The most expensive product is not automatically the easiest to own in KZN.
Compare the installation requirements
Some models may need a particular recess, service cavity, support or waste kit. The manufacturer’s installation manual should be reviewed before the floor and walls are completed.
Choose by project, not brand prestige
The right bath is the one whose construction, proportions, services, support and care requirements suit the actual room and household. Brand reputation is useful, but the exact model still needs to be checked.
