“Long warranty” is not one simple number
Manufacturer warranty documents can separate the mechanical product from its decorative finish. A tap body, cartridge or mixer mechanism may have extended cover while a coloured, matt or special finish has a shorter period or additional conditions.

Finish affects the care rules too
Chrome, PVD, painted and other coated surfaces should not be treated as interchangeable. Abrasive pads, acids, bleach, aggressive limescale products or incorrect sealants can damage a finish even when the underlying valve remains functional.

What to record before ordering
- exact SKU and finish code;
- mechanism and finish warranty terms;
- registration requirement;
- authorised dealer proof;
- approved cleaning method;
- exclusions for pressure, limescale and chemical damage;

A premium tap is not fully specified until its care and warranty conditions are understood by the owner and installer.
