The warranty is part of the installation method
Manufacturer warranty documents repeatedly point to conditions that are easy to overlook on site: pipework must be flushed, strainers may be required, pressure must remain within limits, the correct cleaning products must be used and concealed components must remain accessible.
The brand name does not remove those responsibilities.
Common failure points
Debris can damage cartridges and aerators. Limescale can affect moving parts. Excessive or imbalanced pressure can create poor performance. Abrasive or acidic cleaners can damage decorative finishes. A concealed body that cannot be reached can turn a small service issue into destructive work.
Registration, proof of authorised purchase and use of original spare parts may also matter under the exact guarantee.
A better handover
Give the owner the product SKU, installation manual, warranty terms, care guide, cleaning limitations and service-part references. Record photographs of concealed bodies before closure and note the locations of isolation points.
This is not paperwork for its own sake. It protects the product and gives the next technician the information needed to diagnose it properly.
