The long warranty may not apply to the colour
Bathroom fitting warranties often separate the mechanical product from the decorative surface. A mixer body, cartridge or internal component may have a longer warranty than a coloured, plated, painted or PVD finish.
That distinction matters in a coastal bathroom where salt, humidity, mineral deposits and cleaning chemistry place additional demands on the visible surface.
Read the exclusions before choosing the finish
Confirm what the warranty says about colour, cleaning chemicals, abrasive products, installation, water quality and coastal exposure. A premium product still needs the care method specified by its manufacturer.
The fact that a fitting is expensive or has a long mechanical warranty does not mean that every finish change will be covered for the same period.
Select for the household, not only the showroom
Chrome may be easier to maintain in some homes. Brushed or coloured finishes may suit the design but demand a more disciplined care routine. The right choice depends on the room, exposure and the people who will clean it.
