Intermittent occupancy changes the maintenance question
A holiday apartment may remain closed for days or weeks. Salt deposits, trapped moisture, slow leaks and poor ventilation can continue affecting the bathroom while nobody is there to wipe or report them.
The specification should therefore consider easy-to-clean surfaces, accessible isolation points, reliable ventilation, durable edges and a clear handover routine.
Easy-care is not the same as cheap
Large-format porcelain, correctly selected glass, suitable metal finishes and well-detailed cabinetry can reduce cleaning effort. But each product still has a care method and each installation still needs service access.
A finish that looks strong but is damaged by the cleaning products used by a rental or housekeeping team is not an easy-care finish for that property.
Build the handover around the caretaker
Record what to clean, what to avoid, where to isolate water and how to identify early corrosion or a leaking trap. The instructions should be understandable to the person who looks after the apartment, not only to the installer.
